Onion Ring Chips

Take your snack game to the next level with these irresistible chips! With grilled onion, crispy Armstrong Italiano shredded cheese, and a creamy dip on the side, this perfectly seasoned recipe disappears as fast as it comes together. 

Ingredients

For the sauce: 

  • 1 cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
  • Fresh chives, finely chopped
  • 1 clove fresh garlic
  • Salt and pepper to taste
     

     

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Peel the onions and slice them into ½-inch-thick rounds using a mandoline.
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and evenly spread the Armstrong Italiano shredded cheese across the surface.
  4. Place the largest onion slices over the cheese to create evenly sized chips. Spray with olive oil.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle over the onion slices.
  6. Bake for 10–14 minutes, or until the cheese and onions are golden brown. Keep a close eye to prevent burning!
  7. While baking, add the sour cream or Greek yogurt to a bowl. Mix in chopped chives, grated garlic, salt, and pepper.
  8. Let the chips cool slightly, then gently lift them from the tray. Cut them into square or round chip-sized portions. Serve with the dip, and enjoy every crunchy, savoury bite!
