  • 2 lb (1 kg) lean ground beef
  • 1/3 cup (75 mL) bread crumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 tsp (20 mL) Dijon mustard
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) each salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) chili powder
  • 6 Armstrong Medium Cheddar Cheese slices
  • 6 burger buns
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) mayonnaise
  • 4 tsp (20 mL) grainy mustard
  • 6 slices maple bacon, cooked crispy and halved
  • 8 thin slices tomato
  • 4 romaine lettuce leaves
  • 4 thinly sliced rounds red onion

  1. Preheat grill to medium-high; grease grates well.
  2. Mix together ground beef, bread crumbs, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic, salt, pepper and chili powder. Divide into 6 portions and shape into 1/2-inch (1 cm) thick patties.
  3. Grill burgers, flipping once, for about 10 minutes or until cooked through. Top each burger with cheese slice during last minute of cooking. Meanwhile, grill buns for 1 minute or until lightly toasted.
  4. Spread mayonnaise and mustard over top halves of buns. Place burgers on bottom halves; layer bacon, tomato, lettuce and onion over top. Cap with top halves of buns.
